Training 2023
In mid-October, the IPA Basel opened its doors in the Department of Internal Medicine. Created in cooperation with the University of Basel, the Bern University of Applied Sciences and the Basel-Stadt Health Education Center, it provided four weeks of training in the interaction between different professions. Medical students, prospective FH and HF nurses and physiotherapists, all in their final year of training, worked together to provide care for the patients. The model, which originated in Scandinavia, has been proven to lead to greater patient safety, reduced length of stay, improved quality and greater mutual acceptance between the various professional groups. The pilot model is currently being evaluated and may be implemented as a permanent module in the training structure at the USB.
