As a healthcare assistant, you will care for and look after patients in the inpatient area. You share responsibility for the care process for patients during their hospital stay and support them as required and according to the situation.

Information on training

As a healthcare assistant, you will care for and look after patients in the inpatient area. You will share responsibility for the care process for patients during their hospital stay and support them as required and according to the situation. Your area of work includes nursing tasks and housekeeping activities. As a healthcare assistant, you will work closely with other people. Teamwork and communication play an important role here.

You will spend your training at two different stations. You will be closely supervised by vocational trainers in your day-to-day work and guided to your apprenticeship qualification. During your training, you will be trained and supervised together with other apprentices from different levels and training courses - health and social care assistants, healthcare specialists, nurses HF and FH.

Lessons at the vocational school (BFG Münchenstein) take place once a week. The inter-company course (ÜK) is held at the Oda and also takes place in Münchenstein.

Duration of training: 2 years

Qualification: Federal vocational certificate (EBA)

  • Completion of compulsory schooling, level A
  • Professional communication and relationship building with different people
  • Teamwork (by the way, TEAM does not mean "Great, someone else is doing it...)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills so that we can understand you
  • Good powers of observation
  • You convince with practical skills and a careful way of working
  • A sense of responsibility is important in an apprenticeship as an AGS
  • You are both physically and mentally resilient

After completing your training, you have the option of pursuing a shortened apprenticeship to become a healthcare specialist EFZ.
