Research

The main focus of research today is on the clinical testing of artificial discs in the cervical and lumbar spine, as well as the treatment of spinal stenosis and osteoporosis fractures.

Spinal surgery has a long tradition at the University Hospital Basel. Several implant systems have been developed at the Orthopaedic Clinic over the years.
