At the medical faculty of the University of Basel, asim has developed an educational program that is being expanded every year.
It is aimed at medical students, doctors in further training and in practice and is also open to specialists and anyone interested in the field.

Our Medjus asim training events will take place again soon. Every Wednesday evening at 6.15 pm, both online and in person at the University Hospital Basel.
Followed by a network meeting - Medjus à la carte - for all interested parties.

Die nächste Fortbildung ist am 24. September 2025, 18:15 - 19:30, Anstieg der IV-Neurenten bei unter 25-jährigen Lösungsvorschläge der IV-Stellen-Konferenz, Thomas Pfiffner, Vizepräsident der IV-Stellen-Konferenz
Mit der letzten IVG-Revision wurden verschiedene Verbesserungen für die berufliche Eingliederung von jungen Menschen mit psychischen Erkrankungen eingeführt. Trotzdem steigt die Anzahl der unter 25-jährigen Neurentnerinnen und Neurentner mit psychiatrischen Diagnosen an. Für die nächste Gesetzesrevision schlägt der Vorstand der IVSK Anpassungen am IV-Rentensystem vor, um dieser Entwicklung entgegenzuwirken. So soll das Mindestalter für eine IV-Rente mit Ausnahme bestimmter Gruppen angehoben werden.
Thomas Pfiffner hat beruflich sowohl einen pflegerischen wie auch kaufmännischen Background. Bevor er vor über 10 Jahren die Leitung der IV-Stelle Graubünden übernahm, leitete eine psychiatrische Klinik.

Training and further education
Training in insurance medicine during medical studies
Insurance medicine is part of the public health curriculum within the medical degree program.
Public health is coordinated by the Chair of Public Health at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), while insurance medicine is taught by the Chair of Evidence-based Insurance Medicine.
Important topics are social and private insurance in Switzerland, health, accident and disability insurance laws, daily allowance insurance and pension funds, incapacity for work, disability, risk assessment, prevention and reintegration, case management, the role and task of the doctor, current developments. In the clinic, insurance medicine is an important addition to clinical specialties such as rheumatology, psychiatry, neurology and orthopaedics.
