Welcome to myUSB, the innovative patient portal of the University Hospital Basel. With myUSB you have access to your medical documents and copies of invoices anytime and anywhere - conveniently via the app of the same name or your browser.
Registration and use is very simple and digital, wherever and whenever you want. You can access it via your browser or our myUSB app from your computer or smartphone. All you need to register is an ID document. You can of course also register for the patient portal at your admission point during your next visit to the University Hospital Basel. Please bring an official form of identification with you. You will then receive your access data by e-mail.

Questions and answers about myUSB
How do I register for myUSB?
You can register for the patient portal either directly online or on site at the admissions offices. If you register online, please have a valid identification document (Swiss passport or identity card, other national identity card or passport) ready.

Otherwise, you can register at an admission point on your next visit to the USB by filling out a declaration of consent. In this case, you will receive your access data by post after 3-5 working days. Please note that you will also need to bring a valid ID document with you.
What are the requirements for registering with myUSB?
A valid identity document is required for registration. Registration is also only possible with a personal e-mail address and a cell phone number. The mobile phone number is required to send you important identification notifications. The minimum age for registration is 16 years. For minors, too, registration is only possible with a personal e-mail address and mobile phone number.
In which countries can I use myUSB?
Online registration for myUSB is only possible with a mobile number from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. However, myUSB can be accessed from all European countries.
How can I contact myUSB technical support?

On which devices can I use myUSB? Is it possible to use it without a smartphone?
myUSB can be accessed via this link using any standard web browser on your computer, smartphone or tablet. You can simply log in to the patient portal website and use all the available functions. If you would like to use myUSB as an app, you need to install it on your smartphone via the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Smartphones with other operating systems can access myUSB at any time via a web browser.
Please note, however, that a cell phone number is always required for registration in the patient portal. This is required to verify your identity and to send you important notifications. Once registration is complete, you can use the portal entirely via the browser without the need for a smartphone.
What functions does myUSB offer?
With myUSB we would like to provide you with functions that support you as much as possible before, during and after your stay at the University Hospital Basel. You can currently use the following functions:
- Provision of your medical documents, such as laboratory reports, diagnoses or reports
- Provision of your invoice copies in digital form instead of postal delivery
- Allocation of relevant information material concerning your stay at the USB
The range of applications in myUSB is constantly being developed, so you can look forward to many practical functions in the future. Please note that image material and individual internal documents cannot be offered in myUSB.
Can I create an account for several people or a family account?
Unfortunately, there is currently no option for a family account. We can only register one person per e-mail address.
I have changed my cell phone and no longer have access to myUSB. What can I do?
Please contact one of our admissions offices on your next visit to adjust your access. Please do not use the online registration for this.
I have already registered on site and would now like to extend my access to medical documents in myUSB. How do I proceed?

How can I receive my invoice copies?
You can view and download your invoice copies electronically via the patient portal. Alternatively, we can also send you the invoice copies by post. It is not possible to send them either electronically or by post. If you wish to receive copies of invoices by post, you will not incur any additional costs. If you have any questions about invoice copies, please contact us by e-mail at rechnungskopien@usb.ch.

According to Art. 42 Para. 3 of the Health Insurance Act, all service providers who bill in the "Tiers payant (TP)" system must provide patients with a copy of the invoice. The University Hospital Basel provides patients with a copy of the invoice in electronic form in our myUSB patient portal.
