The emergency center receives gold for its senior-friendliness

The USB Emergency Center is the first center outside the USA to be awarded the Gold Standard for senior-friendliness.

The USB Emergency Center has been awarded Gold Level by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). The first emergency center outside the USA.

Director Nursing/MTT, Peter Suter, Head of Practice Development Therapies, Anne Leuppi-Taegtmeyer, Head of Patient Safety Department, Jerry Lavorgna, Head of Social Services, Mascha Bethke, Head of medStandards and other colleagues, has contributed to achieving this award with its interprofessional collaboration. This accreditation underlines the USB's commitment to providing the best possible care for elderly patients.

The GEDA program has been promoting the improvement of emergency care for older people since 2014.

The criteria include the provision of specially trained staff, senior-friendly medStandards and special equipment.
